Manchester United Secures Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s Future with Contract Extension
In a move that has surprised many, Manchester United has exercised their option to extend Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract until June 2025, effectively securing his services for the foreseeable future.
The decision comes amidst speculations about the right-back’s potential departure from Old Trafford. Had the option not been triggered, clubs from overseas would have been free to negotiate with Wan-Bissaka ahead of the upcoming season.
Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United in 2019 following a high-profile transfer worth £50 million from Crystal Palace. At that time, more than 800 right-backs were considered before he was chosen as one of their most expensive signings ever.
However, despite high expectations, the Croydon-born player has struggled to consistently make an impact on the pitch. Even this season, he has found himself frequently left out of the starting lineup by manager Erik ten Hag in favor of Diogo Dalot – who recently agreed to a new five-year deal at Old Trafford.
