Manchester United Trying to Finalise Terms for Jadon Sancho’s Loan Move Back to Borussia Dortmund
In a surprising turn of events, Manchester United are currently working on the finer details of Jadon Sancho’s loan move back to his former club, Borussia Dortmund.
The two clubs have reportedly reached an agreement that would allow Sancho to reunite with Dortmund for the remainder of the season. However, there are still contractual and financial matters that need to be ironed out before the deal can be finalized.
Jadon Sancho made headlines when he joined Manchester United in July 2021 for a whopping £73m transfer fee. However, since August, he has found himself on the sidelines due to disagreements with manager Erik ten Hag.
The rift between Sancho and Ten Hag began after the winger was left out of September’s match against Arsenal, with Ten Hag citing poor training performance as the reason behind his exclusion. In response, Sancho took to social media claiming he was being unfairly targeted and refused to apologize for his comments.
Sancho’s time at Manchester United has been marked by inconsistent form – only managing nine league goals and six assists in his 58 appearances so far. As a result, Dortmund is eager to bring him back during their mid-season training camp in Marbella.
Dortmund currently sits fifth in Bundesliga standings but hopes that having Sancho join them will provide a boost as they prepare for friendly fixtures against AZ Alkmaar and Standard Liege. The team will then return to Germany to continue their league campaign against Darmstadt.
