In another exciting transfer development, Leicester City has strengthened their attacking options by acquiring the services of Japan international Yuka Momiki from Linkoping FC. The 27-year-old forward recently signed an 18-month deal with the East Midlands club following a successful three-year stint in the Swedish top flight.

Bristol City Adds Shae Yanez to Goalkeeping Ranks

Bristol City has also made moves to bolster their squad by signing goalkeeper Shae Yanez from San Diego Wave. The 26-year-old shot-stopper previously showcased her skills during three seasons with Championship side London City Lionesses before returning to her native United States to play in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Gorry’s arrival at West Ham marks their third January signing alongside United States midfielder Kristie Mewis and experienced Canadian defender Shelina Zadorsky. Speaking about her transfer, Gorry expressed her excitement to join the club, highlighting West Ham’s strong sense of community and the opportunity to compete in the highly regarded Women’s Super League.

“The club spoke my language,” said Gorry. “West Ham is a family club and that was a big factor for me wanting to join. I’ve felt the support from everyone straight away and there is no better place for me to be right now.”

Gorry also expressed her desire to challenge herself by playing against some of the best players in the world: “The Women’s Super League is the league everyone is speaking about at the moment. I want to challenge myself and play against, and with, the best players in the world.”

Momiki shared similar sentiments upon joining Leicester City, emphasizing their manager’s passion and vision for success. The Japanese forward believes that Leicester City has clear goals and plans which align with her own ambitions as a player.

Bristol City’s new signing Yanez revealed how she longed for an opportunity to play in England again after previously having successful stints with London City Lionesses. She expressed gratitude towards Bristol City for giving her this chance.

Looking Ahead

The signings of Katrina Gorry by West Ham United, Yuka Momiki by Leicester City, and Shae Yanez by Bristol City demonstrate each team’s commitment to strengthening their squads as they aim high within their respective leagues.
