Manchester United Trigger Break Clause in Reguilon’s Loan Move
In a surprising turn of events, Manchester United have made the decision to trigger a break clause in Sergio Reguilon’s loan move, allowing him to return to Tottenham.
The signing of Reguilon by United back in August came as a result of injuries sustained by left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia at the club.
During his time at Old Trafford, the talented 27-year-old defender managed to make an impressive total of 12 appearances. His most recent involvement was as a late substitute against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Out of those appearances, he was given starting opportunities on seven occasions. However, his last start ended with disappointment for the team as they suffered a home defeat against Bournemouth with a scoreline of 3-0 on December 9th.
With Shaw and Malacia nearing their return to action this month, Manchester United have decided that it is best for them to part ways with Reguilon and allow him to rejoin Tottenham – one of their Premier League rivals.
