Prepare yourself for an exciting addition to the Royal Ascot lineup as Al Asifah is set to join in on the action after her recent victory at Goodwood. The filly, a progeny of Frankel and owned by Shadwell, has been confirmed to supplement for the Ribblesdale Stakes following her impressive debut at Haydock earlier this year.

The Rise of Al Asifah
Al Asifah’s latest win was no fluke – she proved herself once again as she stepped up to Listed class with an outstanding performance that left everyone stunned. Her connections initially considered adding her to next month’s Irish Oaks but ultimately decided on joining the Royal meeting instead. Joint-trainer John Gosden gave his approval after monitoring her progress since Goodwood and deemed it fit for Al Asifah to make a swift return.
A Definite Possibility
Racing manager Angus Gold expressed confidence in their decision, saying that nothing much has changed since the race and all signs point towards positive outcomes. He also revealed that they do not have any other options at present given that there are only a few three-year-old fillies-only races available. Supplementing Al Asifah will cost them over £13,000 which may seem like too much money but they believe it is worth investing in especially considering how well their prized filly has been performing lately.
Getting There In One Piece
Their decision was not without hesitation though – Gold acknowledged that horses can be unpredictable and anything could happen leading up to the event itself. Furthermore, he also noted some health concerns from when Al Asifah used tie up issues as a two-year-old with high muscle enzymes problems; however, he stressed that at the moment, she is in excellent shape and they intend to keep it that way as they prepare her for the upcoming event.
