Alexis Mac Allister Set for Liverpool Medical Ahead of Transfer from Brighton

Liverpool Set to Sign Argentina Playmaker Alexis Mac Allister for £55m

Liverpool is set to bolster their midfield as they close in on the signing of Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister for a whopping £55m. The Seagulls have given permission for the Argentine midfielder to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Anfield. Mac Allister played an instrumental role in helping Brighton secure European football for the first time last season, finishing sixth in the Premier League. He also played a pivotal part in leading Argentina to victory at the World Cup held in December. With James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving this summer, Liverpool needs reinforcements in midfield. The Reds were priced out of a move for Real Madrid target Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. The 24-year-old midfielder made 40 appearances and scored 12 goals last season while playing mainly as number ten but also dropping deeper into midfield positions at times. Roberto de Zerbi, Brighton’s manager, hailed him as “a great player who deserves to play at a higher level.” Mac Allister has been capped 16 times by Argentina and was a key figure during their victorious campaign at the 2022 World Cup held earlier this year where he scored against Poland during group stages. Liverpool fans are excited about this new addition that could help them mount another title challenge after finishing third last season behind Manchester City and Chelsea. It remains unclear when exactly Mac Allister will be unveiled as Liverpool’s newest recruit or whether he’ll make his debut anytime soon once signed.
