Bath Signs Former Jersey Reds Player on Short-Term Contract
Adding to their squad depth, Bath Rugby Club has made an unexpected move by signing former Jersey Reds full-back Brendan Owen. The South African, aged 27, has joined the team on a short-term contract.
Owen’s journey to Bath was far from conventional. After joining the Championship side in 2019, unfortunate circumstances led to his status as a free agent when the club faced liquidation in October last year. However, this turn of events did not overshadow his talent and potential.
Interestingly enough, Owen had previously showcased his skills against Bath earlier this season during the Premiership Rugby Cup victory for the Reds. Now he finds himself representing the very team that witnessed his ability firsthand.
This seasoned player is no stranger to international rugby either. With experiences playing both in Australia and Italy alongside representing his home country at various levels of competition, , Owen brings a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge to Bath’s lineup.
