Exciting Signs of Performance from Inspiral Ahead of the Upcoming Royal Ascot Event

The Unbeatable Inspiral Returns to the Track at Royal Ascot

In a stunning display of athleticism, Inspiral limbered up with a racecourse gallop on Newmarket’s July course. The Cheveley Park Stud-owned filly is unbeaten in her four juvenile starts and will make her reappearance at the Royal meeting this year in the Queen Anne Stakes.

Last year, after she won the Coronation Stakes 12 months ago, it was clear that Inspiral was a force to be reckoned with. However, following an unexpected defeat in the Falmouth Stakes and bouncing back to claim yet another Group One win in France’s Prix Jacques le Marois left many confused about what comes next for this Frankel filly.

Due to last month’s Lockinge at Newbury coming too soon, she has not been seen since finishing down the field in October’s QEII on Champions Day at Ascot. Despite this lengthy absence from racing, trainer John Gosden expressed his satisfaction after seeing her pull comfortably clear of her work companion under Frankie Dettori during Tuesday morning’s training session.

A Challenging Season Ahead for Inspiral

Gosden admits that while he is taking some encouragement from last season where Inspiral proved herself capable of producing big performances first time out; he sees no easy way forward for his prized filly as she faces tough competition against proven older horses like Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Modern Games among other likely rivals.

“We were hoping to go to Lockinge but it didn’t quite happen so we will go straight into Queen Anne,” said Clarehaven handler Gosden.

“It does give us confidence going there knowing that we have done this before. It is like all these fillies though – they will tell you when they are ready to run, you don’t tell them.

“Last year we were just taking on three-year-old fillies. This year we are taking on proven older horses like the Breeders’ Cup Mile winner, so it is a much bigger test.

Gosden went ahead to acknowledge that despite Inspiral’s success last season as she took on younger fillies only, this time around presents a much tougher challenge as she takes on experienced older horses in what promises to be an exciting season for horse racing fans everywhere.
