    Greek top seed Maria Sakkari also began her campaign at the Nottingham Open with a straight-set win against China’s Wang Xiyu. Despite a resilient performance by Wang Xiyu who took it all way through tie-breaks; however, Sakarri eventually managed well on taking fifth match point that enabled him edge a second-round tie-break victorious with scores reading , prevailed 6–26–7 (86)

    Victories for Tatjana Maria and Donna Vekic

    The Nottingham Open also saw victories for Germany’s Tatjana Maria and Croatian star Donna Vekic. 2022 Wimbledon semi-finalist, Tatyana Maria won against China’s Zhang Shuai with scores reading 6-1, 6-4 to set up a second-round meeting with Watson. Australian Open quarter-finalist Donna Vekic won an intense match against Spain’s Cristina Bucsa with scores reading 6-24-66–1.

    Other Results from the Tournament

    In other results from the tournament, British qualifier Sonay Kartal was beaten by Poland’s Magdalena Frech in a closely contested game that ended with scores of 6-3,5 -7 ,and finally settling at at 6–26–3. Arthur Fery,Ryan Peniston and George Loffhagen will however be in action later today . Dan Evans,Liam Broady,and Jan Choinski are all competing as well.
