Isaac Chamberlain and Roman Fury Join June 16 York Hall

    Chamberlain’s Frustration with Lawal Cancellation

Isaac Chamberlain is still gunning for his shot at the British cruiserweight title, but his upcoming fight with Daniel Bocianski has been rescheduled due to Mikael Lawal’s medical issue. In an interview, Chamberlain expressed his annoyance towards Lawal’s withdrawal from their May 27 fight. “I want to see him face-to-face… maybe he had some hard spars or some hard training sessions and his coaching team was like: ‘I don’t think you’re ready.’ Maybe he’s having doubts.

I don’t know,” said Chamberlain. The cancellation of the fight becomes a setback for Chamberlain in pursuing his goal of winning the British title. However, despite this frustration, he remains focused on what lies ahead. “I only took a day to get annoyed and I’m back in the gym, back training, focusing on what’s next. That’s all I’ve got to do; I can’t really dwell on it.”

    Cruiserweights Making Waves in Britain

It remains a good time to be a cruiserweight in Britain as fighters like Richard Riakporhe or rising prospects such as Viddal Riley are jostling for position among others in the mix. “Very exciting. Lots of great fights could be made… It’s great to be amongst all of it,” said Chamberlain. Chamberlain himself will return to York Hall bill along with Roman Fury who will have his second professional career match alongside leading heavyweight Tyson Fury and reality TV star Tommy Fury.
