Northampton Saints acquire former London Irish back-rower Tom Pearson

Northampton Signs Tom Pearson after London Irish Struggles

If there is one thing that is constant in rugby, it’s change. And that has been the case for former London Irish back-rower Tom Pearson who has now signed with Northampton Saints following his club’s financial collapse.

The Third Signing of Former Exiles Player by Saints

Pearson becomes the third player from his former team to join Northampton, after Chunya Munga and Tarek Haffar made similar moves.

The 23-year-old was recently named in England’s pre-World Cup training squad as he continues to make his mark on English rugby.

A Time to Treasure at London Irish Despite Adversity

Pearson spoke highly of his time spent with the struggling club where he scored ten tries in thirty-nine games over two years.

“I’ll always be incredibly grateful to London Irish and treasure my time there,” said Pearson about his experience at the now-defunct club. “It’s tragic not knowing what could have been achieved if things had gone differently.”

Saints Director of Rugby Praises New Acquisition

“Tom is an incredible athlete, and is just going to get better the longer he stays within this professional environment,” said Phil Dowson, director of rugby for Northampton Saints.
