Scotland Braces for a Challenge Against Norway’s Rising Star: Jack Hendry Shares How Facing Messi Prepared Him for Haaland

Scotland’s Hendry Ready to Take on Haaland After Facing Messi, Neymar and Mbappe

In a recent interview, Scottish center-back Jack Hendry expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifier against Norway. He believes that facing Erling Haaland will be an exciting challenge after playing against some of the world’s best footballers.

Hendry had faced Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the Champions League while playing for Club Brugge. His experience with these players has prepared him well for taking on Haaland, who scored an impressive 52 goals last season for Manchester City.

The defender described Haaland as “an amazing player with an amazing record this season” but is looking forward to testing himself against one of the best strikers in the world. He added that studying how top strikers play has given him great experience and confidence going into contests like this one.

Challenging Himself Against Top Strikers Like Mbappe Gives Him Confidence

Hendry played two games against PSG last season where he helped limit their star-studded attack to just one goal at home. Although City beat Brugge twice before signing Haaland, Hendry still gained valuable experience from those matches.

“Haaland, like every other player, I will study and see how they are going to play and come up with a best solution on how to deal with them,” he said.

This season started out rocky when Hendry was loaned out Cremonese in Serie A but returned later due to a knee injury during his tenure there. Despite this setback though; he worked hard upon returning back at Club Brugge which ultimately paid off by making it into the final three games of the season. His chances of adding to his 21 Scotland caps have increased with Grant Hanley and Scott McKenna out due to injury.

Hendry is excited about the challenge that lies ahead, and he’s confident in his ability to take on Haaland. He believes that facing some of the world’s best footballers has given him valuable experience and confidence going into this contest.
