“Shaquille aims for victory in Commonwealth Games basketball tournament”

Shaquille set for Commonwealth Cup glory at Royal Ascot

The connections of Shaquille are eagerly anticipating his appearance in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. The three-year-old has been reported to be in excellent health ahead of what promises to be an exciting race.

Last season, Julie Camacho’s stable star won three out of four juvenile starts and continued his impressive form this year with a comeback victory in handicap company at Newmarket’s Guineas Festival. He then stepped up to Listed class and emerged victorious in the Carnarvon Stakes at Newbury last month.

Now, Shaquille is being prepared for the Group One challenge on June 23rd. Steve Brown, assistant to trainer Julie Camacho said: “He worked well (on Saturday morning) and you’re counting the days – the bubble wrap is on! We’re not changing anything; we’ll stick to his routine and he’ll have one more strong bit of work before we leave him.”

    A horse that keeps improving

Brown went on to say that Shaquille looks good and they are happy with his progress. He added that it’s fantastic to have a chance of being competitive against some top-quality horses:

“It’s fantastic to think you’ve got a chance of going down there and being competitive, and he’s a horse that keeps finding some improvement.”

The team remains optimistic about their chances at Royal Ascot, but Brown acknowledges that there will be stiff competition:

“We can dream a bit longer and see what comes.”

    Final thoughts

In summary, Shaquille is in excellent form and his connections are confident that he can compete at the highest level. It’s going to be a thrilling race, and we’ll have to wait until June 23rd to see if Shaquille can emerge victorious.
