Southampton FC to part ways with Theo Walcott and Mohamed Elyounoussi

Southampton Loses Two Players as Walcott and Elyounoussi Say Goodbye

Southampton FC is set for a tough challenge in the upcoming season as two of their players, Theo Walcott and Mohamed Elyounoussi will leave the club at the end of this month when their contracts expire.

    Who’s Leaving?

Theo Walcott rejoined Southampton in 2020 but was not able to prevent the team from getting relegated from Premier League last season. The forward who scored only two goals in twenty-four games had been an integral part of Southampton during his earlier stint with them.

Mohamed Elyounoussi joined Southampton after moving from Swiss side Basel in 2018. He managed to score nine goals in ninety games but unfortunately couldn’t make much impact on the team.

New Contract Talks for Caballero While Russell Martin Set To Be Appointed As Manager

On a positive note, goalkeeper Willy Caballero is currently under talks over a new contract. Though he has only featured five times since joining Southampton last December, they are confident that he can add value to their squad.

Russell Martin is expected to be appointed as the new manager soon, though there seems to be some delay due to disagreements about compensation between Championship rivals Swansea City and Southampton FC over his services.
