The battle to avoid Premier League relegation: Who will be playing in the Championship next season?

The Battle for Survival: Premier League Relegation Drama Intensifies

As the end of the season approaches, it’s clear that the battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League is going down to the wire. With four points separating Nottingham Forest, Everton, Leeds and Leicester, there are plenty more twists and turns still to come.

Southampton has already been relegated after an 11-year stint in England’s top-flight league following their defeat by Fulham. Meanwhile, with just one point above Leeds and at risk of falling into the bottom three due to their Sunday thrashing against Manchester City (3-0), Everton is in a precarious position.

Nottingham Forest – Can Steeve Cooper Save Them?

Promoted from Championship last season after a long time out of top division football since ’98-’99 ahead of this campaign not much was expected from them. And yet here they are fighting for survival with wins over Sheffield United & Wolves along with a draw against Burnley making them stand tall amongst their competitors.

Gracenote fact: Nottingham Forest have made fewer passes this season than any other Premier League team and their percentage of completed passes (73%) is also lowest. Still to play: Arsenal (a); Crystal Palace(h) Chance Of Relegation (%): 29

Everton – Is Sean Dyche The Right Manager?

The arrival of Sean Dyche looked like a turning point for the Toffees as they began to show signs of improvement after Frank Lampard was sacked. However, it seems that they are still not out of danger and their goal difference could be crucial in determining whether or not they remain in the Premier League.

Gracenote fact: Only Bournemouth have conceded more goal attempts from their opponents than Everton this season. Still to play: Wolves (a); Bournemouth(h) Chance Of Relegation (%): 72

Leeds United – Can Marcelo Bielsa’s Side Survive?

With only two wins away from home all season long, Leeds has struggled on the road which is somewhat unsurprising given the side’s style of play. But recent results suggest some measure of hope.

Gracenote fact: Leeds have conceded a goal from 14% of attempts faced this season, making them worst in PL. Still to play: West Ham(a); Tottenham(h) Chance Of Relegation(%):83%

Leicester City – What Went Wrong with Brendan Rodgers’ Men?

Last year’s Europa Conference League semi-finalists had an awful start to life under manager Brendan Rodgers and they have failed to bounce back despite reaching such heights last year. But with new interim boss Dean Smith stepping up things might change during run-in fixtures.

    Still To Play : Chelsea(h) ; Spurs(a) Chance Of Relegation(%):17

As the season draws to a close, the tension and excitement are only going to increase for football fans. Who will survive? Can Nottingham Forest complete an unlikely escape? Or will Everton or Leeds fall through the trapdoor?
