Westover Gallops to Glory: Deciding Between Royal Ascot and Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud

Westover Considers Two Options After Strong Coronation Cup Showing

The world of horse racing is buzzing with excitement after Westover’s impressive performance in the recent Coronation Cup at Epsom. The Ralph Beckett-trained colt finished second in the Dubai Sheema Classic earlier this year and was a 5-2 favorite to win Group One gold on Friday.

Despite finishing behind top-class filly Emily Upjohn, Westover proved his mettle by finishing best of the rest. His owners, Juddmonte, were thrilled with his performance and are now considering their options for his next outing.

A Horse With an Impressive Track Record

Westover has an impressive track record, having finished third in last year’s Derby and going on to win the Irish equivalent. He also finished sixth in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe as a three-year-old. Apart from a disappointing run at Ascot last year, he has never run a bad race.

This consistency is what makes him such an exciting prospect for races like the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot or the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. While both races are under consideration, it’s likely that only one will be chosen.

    A Tough Choice Ahead

The decision between these two prestigious races won’t be easy for Westover’s connections. On one hand, there is Royal Ascot – one of Europe’s most glamorous race meetings – but on the other hand, there is France’s Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud which boasts some of Europe’s finest turf horses among its past winners.

In either case, it seems certain that fans can look forward to another strong showing from this talented colt as he continues to cement his place among horse racing elite.
