Alisha Lehmann Takes the Lead in Women’s World Cup 2023: Ranking Among the Top Instagram Influencers

Ashton Villa Player Alisha Lehmann Tops Instagram Influence Rankings Among Women’s World Cup Participants

According to data analysts Gracenote Nielsen, Aston Villa and Switzerland’s very own Alisha Lehmann has emerged as the leading influencer on Instagram among players participating in the Women’s World Cup.

The top 10 influencers comprise players from nine different countries, with only the USA having two representatives. It is worth mentioning that England captain Leah Williamson would have secured a fourth-place position if not for an unfortunate anterior cruciate ligament injury ruling her out of the tournament.

Nielsen’s InfluenceScope evaluates various factors such as followers, follower growth, engagement rate, audience reachability, and average brand value per post on Instagram to determine which players provide the most social media value for their sponsors.

“The soccer players taking part in the World Cup are not just exceptional sportswomen but also influential figures on social media,” said Jon Stainer, global managing director of Nielsen Sports. “They have tremendous potential to drive meaningful conversations and foster genuine connections with their followers.”

As part of Aston Villa’s Women’s Super League team, Lehmann played in an incredible 43 out of their total of 44 matches over the past two seasons while scoring seven goals along the way.

Alexia Putellas: Barcelona Midfield Maestro Gains Over a Million New Followers Despite Injury

Last year was significant for Putellas as she became Spain’s first female footballer to reach the century mark in caps. Unfortunately, she also suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury which kept her out of the European Championship.
