    Bristol Bears Remain Undefeated in Allianz Cup Pool Stage as Deborah Wills Shines with Three Tries

    Bristol Bears and Other Top Teams Advance in Allianz Cup

    The pool stages of the highly competitive Allianz Cup came to a thrilling end as Bristol Bears, Gloucester-Hartpury, Saracens, and Exeter Chiefs secured top positions in their respective groups.

    However, Gloucester’s unbeaten run took an unexpected turn as they suffered a narrow defeat to Saracens with a scoreline of 38-31. It was certainly disappointing for Gloucester fans but served as an exhilarating triumph for Saracens.

    In another exciting encounter during the pool stages, Exeter Chiefs displayed their dominance with an emphatic win over Leicester Tigers. The final score stood at an overwhelming 61-7 in favor of the Chiefs. On the women’s front, Loughborough Lightning also celebrated success by defeating Trailfinders Women with a convincing margin of 31-12.

    A standout performer for Bristol Bears during their match against Sale Sharks was Deborah Wills who notched up three well-deserved tries. Rownita Marston-Mulhearn also made a strong comeback and contributed to the team’s victory with her impressive performance.

    Pool B witnessed an intense clash as Saracens managed to edge past Gloucester. The final scoreline of 38-31 secured Saracens’ position above their rivals in Pool B. May Campbell’s impactful efforts resulted in her scoring twice during this crucial encounter.

    In Pool A, defending champions Exeter Chiefs finished second behind Bristol Bears. They cemented their place in the top two by producing a remarkable display against Leicester Tigers. The match ended with the Chiefs outclassing their opponents, securing victory with a stunning total of eleven tries. Ebony Jeffries, Brooke Bradley, and Felicity Powdrell were among the standout contributors who each scored twice for Exeter.

    As the pool stages concluded on a high note, Loughborough Lightning showcased their prowess by defeating debutants Trailfinders Women, ending their campaign on a positive note. Ellen Scantlebury played an instrumental role for Loughborough Lightning, contributing two tries towards their victorious finish.
