Chelsea to Sign Defender Axel Disasi from AS Monaco
In a surprising move, Chelsea Football Club has reached an agreement to acquire the services of talented defender Axel Disasi from AS Monaco for a staggering fee of 45m euros (£38.57m). This unexpected signing will undoubtedly bolster Chelsea’s defensive options and provide much-needed cover following Wesley Fofana’s unfortunate injury.
Fofana, who was originally the go-to right-sided center-back for Chelsea, is now facing several months on the sidelines after undergoing anterior cruciate ligament surgery. Axel Disasi began his professional career at Stade de Reims before making a high-profile move to AS Monaco in August 2020. The Frenchman has already earned four caps for his national team and made his full international debut during France’s World Cup defeat against Tunisia last November.
Disasi will become Chelsea’s third signing this summer alongside forwards Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku as new manager Mauricio Pochettino aims to reshape his squad following Frank Lampard’s departure.
Furthermore, there are reports suggesting that Rennes midfielder Lesley Ugochukwe is closing in on a £23.2m transfer to Stamford Bridge.
