Coach Kassad makes a comeback to assemble Bleed’s inaugural CS2 lineup

Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović takes helm as Bleed’s CS2 head coach

In a surprising turn of events, Serbian esports guru Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović has been appointed as the head coach for Bleed’s Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) team. This marks his triumphant return to coaching after transitioning into a full-time analyst role in tournament broadcasts last year.

Known for his extensive experience in the competitive scene, kassad boasts an impressive track record as a CS:GO coach. He has previously worked with renowned organizations such as Cloud9, MOUZ, Renegades, and 100 Thieves between 2016 and 2020. Notably, he was part of the historic Renegades roster that made Australian esports history by reaching the semifinals of the StarLadder Berlin Major in September 2019.

This collaboration between kassad and Bleed comes at an exciting time as the Singaporean organization makes its debut in Counter-Strike esports. With successful projects across VALORANT and Dota 2 under their belt, Bleed captured attention worldwide when they signed yay – hailed as the best VALORANT player globally in 2022 – earlier this year.

In an announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter), kassad expressed his enthusiasm about returning to coaching:

“After careful consideration, I have decided to reclaim my position as head coach and immerse myself once again in the competitive environment,” said kassad on Nov. 28. “My immediate focus will be assembling the right team, as time is of the essence with the next season fast approaching.”

Kassad has wasted no time in outlining his strategy for building Bleed’s CS2 squad. Starting with securing an exceptional in-game leader and sniper, he aims to form a European-based team according to an interview with HLTV on Nov. 28. However, this doesn’t rule out potential signings from other regions.

The ambitious goal is to have the team ready for competition within a month or so, allowing them to participate in open qualifiers for the highly anticipated PGL Copenhagen CS2 Major slated for 2024.
