F1 23 game reveals debut of Las Vegas track gameplay

The Las Vegas Grand Prix track debuts in EA SPORTS F1 23 game

The much-awaited Las Vegas Grand Prix, scheduled for November this year, is already making waves before its debut. Its official version will be available within the EA SPORTS F1 23 game which releases in June- a full five months ahead of the actual race.

A glimpse into what to expect on race day

EA and Codemasters have released footage showcasing the new track’s design with their Social and Content Manager PJ Tierney providing commentary driving a generic customizable car starting from P22 on the grid. The night-time three-lap race includes a short sprint into sweeping left-hander Turn 1 followed by an exhilarating high-speed straight that leads to a tricky Turn5-Turn9 complex beside the illuminated Sphere venue.

As you travel further along the lap, we head down one of America’s most iconic streets – Las Vegas Boulevard flanked by large hotels including Eiffel Tower Restaurant all carefully modeled in-game. It promises to be among one of the fastest tracks on the calendar according to early estimations.

The art behind recreating Sin City

Codemasters opted not to use laser-scan technology like many other modern racing games but instead relied heavily upon photogrammetry data and reference images taken during track construction when building their virtual recreation of Sin City. Lee Mather Senior Creative Director at Codemasters had this to say about developing such an intricate virtual model:

“Our team has designed an outstandingly authentic representation of one of America’s most striking cities while overcoming several challenges presented mostly because of how difficult it was reproducing those massive buildings.”

The end result was nothing short of impressive, and it took the team over 1900 days to deliver that level of authenticity.

    Limited-edition Las Vegas-themed customization items

In addition to the new track, EA SPORTS F1 23 will be debuting limited-time pre-order Las Vegas-themed customisation items: a chrome car livery, race suit, gloves and crash helmet.

In conclusion, racing fans can only wait in excitement for what is expected to be an exhilarating debut of the Sin City Grand Prix come November this year. Get your game controllers ready as you get a chance to enjoy a sneak-peek of this iconic street circuit when EA SPORTS F1 23 releases in June.
