Imad Wasim joins Notts Outlaws on a temporary contract

Notts Outlaws Re-sign Imad Wasim on Short-Term T20 Deal

In an unexpected move, Notts Outlaws have secured the services of Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim once again, this time for a short-term T20 contract. The 34-year-old has previously enjoyed two successful stints at Trent Bridge and played a pivotal role in helping the team clinch the T20 Blast title in 2020.

During his previous spells with Notts Outlaws, Wasim showcased his exceptional left-arm spin skills, bagging an impressive tally of 18 wickets from 16 matches. Now, he returns as injury cover for Colin Munro and Samit Patel for the remaining two group games of the competition. If the Outlaws progress to the quarter-finals, they will be able to rely on Wasim’s valuable contributions.

Peter Moores, head coach of Notts Outlaws expressed his delight at bringing back Wasim into their squad: “With Colin Munro and Samit Patel unavailable due to injuries, it is crucial for us to maintain a balanced lineup. Having had him before gives us that advantage. Additionally, Imad brings experience from playing at the highest level which proves invaluable during crucial encounters.”

Moores further elaborated on how versatile Wasim can be: “Not only can he make significant contributions with both bat and ball but also adapt his bowling throughout different phases of the game.”
