Immanuel Feyi-Waboso’s Injury at Newcastle Gives Exeter Chiefs Reason for Optimism
Exeter Chiefs Boss Optimistic about Feyi-Waboso’s Injury Status
In their recent match against Newcastle, Exeter Chiefs suffered an early setback when young winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso had to be substituted due to injury. Despite this unfortunate event, there is hope that the injury is not too serious.
Feyi-Waboso, a highly-rated 20-year-old player from Cardiff with eligibility for both Wales and England, showcased his exceptional skills by scoring an impressive try within the first 35 seconds of the game. This was his third try in just seven league games this season.
However, he was forced off the field only ten minutes later after expressing discomfort and difficulty opening up fully during play. Rob Baxter, head coach of Exeter Chiefs, expressed optimism regarding Feyi-Waboso’s condition:
“Hopefully Manny’s not too bad because he was saying he was feeling something and couldn’t open up,” Baxter stated.
Baxter also acknowledged that they made a smart decision by substituting him early to avoid further damage: “But hopefully we’ve got him off before too much damage is done.”
