Manuel Neuer extends contract with Bayern Munich until 2025

Manuel Neuer Signs New Deal with Bayern Munich

In a surprising turn of events, Bayern Munich and Germany’s star goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, has committed his future to the Bundesliga champions until 2025. After enduring a lengthy absence due to breaking his right leg on a skiing trip, the resilient 37-year-old made an impressive comeback in October.

Having already secured an astonishing collection of accolades including eleven league titles and nearing his 500th appearance for the club, Neuer expressed his joy at extending his stay: “I’m delighted to be remaining at FC Bayern for another year. Despite my prolonged injury setback, I am back in top form,” he declared.

The talented shot-stopper also expressed immense satisfaction in playing alongside such an exceptional team: “It brings me tremendous joy to be on the pitch with this remarkable group of players. With unwavering support from our fans, I firmly believe that we can conquer our lofty ambitions over the next few years – one of which includes reaching the coveted Champions League final in Munich by 2025.”

This will mark the second time that Allianz Arena hosts such a prestigious match since their loss against Chelsea on penalties in their home stadium back in 2012.

During Neuer’s absence last season after sustaining an injury following the World Cup campaign, Sven Ulreich admirably stepped up as second-choice keeper and earned himself a contract extension until 2025. The acquisition of Yann Sommer from Borussia Monchengladbach served as a temporary solution, but he was eventually sold to Inter Milan in August. As a result, Ulreich and Neuer now stand as the club’s two senior goalkeepers.

Neuer expressed his satisfaction with having Ulreich by his side: “Knowing that I have Sven alongside me makes this extension even more special.”

Currently positioned second in the Bundesliga behind Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern has yet to suffer defeat in the league this season.
