Toto Wolff, head of Mercedes F1 team, revealed that they have closely followed Doriane’s development over several years. This close observation made it apparent that she was their top choice once all Formula 1 teams committed to running one car in the F1 Academy from 2024 onwards.

Wolff praised Pin’s exceptional talent and expressed his delight at having her as their chosen driver for their participation in the F1 Academy program. He acknowledged Deborah Mayer and Iron Dames for their incredible support in enabling Pin to display her abilities and seize this opportunity.

From Iron Dames to Winning Streaks

Doriane Pin’s journey to F1 began when she joined Iron Dames in 2021 after being a finalist in the FIA’s Girls on Track – Rising Stars competition. Her breakthrough came during the 2022 season, where she claimed victory in the European Le Mans Series, showcasing her immense potential.

In addition to her triumphs on track, Pin also secured the Gold Cup class win at Spa 24 Hours, driving alongside Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting, and Rahel Frey in an Iron Dames Ferrari. This achievement solidified her status as a force to be reckoned with.

The talented French driver continued to impress by dominating the Ferrari Challenge Europe series before making waves in the LMP2 class of the World Endurance Championship. Teaming up with former Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat and Mirko Bortolotti under Prema Racing’s banner proved fruitful as she was hailed as ‘Revelation of the Year’ at its prize-giving ceremony.

Prioritizing her transition into single-seaters, Pin participated in various championships such as the F4 South East Asia Championship and recently made her debut appearance in the F4 UAE championship. Displaying remarkable skill and determination throughout these races led to two well-deserved victories back-to-back.
