Negotiations underway for Hugo Lloris to join Los Angeles FC on a free transfer

Tottenham Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris Eyeing Move to MLS Side Los Angeles FC

Reports suggest that Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is currently engaged in negotiations with Major League Soccer team, Los Angeles FC, for a potential free transfer. This move would mark the end of an impressive 11-year tenure for Lloris at north London.

Lloris had come close to departing from Spurs during the summer and was involved in talks with Italian club Lazio; however, a deal failed to materialize. The experienced shot-stopper has found himself behind Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster this season and hasn’t played since suffering a heavy defeat against Newcastle United back in April.

Since his arrival from Lyon in 2012, the now-37-year-old French international has made an astounding total of 447 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur.

The desire to leave Tottenham was expressed by Lloris over the summer, which eventually led him being excluded from the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East. Additionally, he was replaced as captain by forward Son Heung-min after serving as club captain since Mauricio Pochettino appointed him back in 2015.

In terms of achievements during his time at Spurs, Lloris boasts an impressive record of keeping clean sheets – tallying up a remarkable figure of151 shutouts over his career. Notably, he helped guide Tottenham to their memorable UEFA Champions League final appearance under Pochettino’s management back in2019.

Furthermore,Llorishad great success on the international stage, playing a pivotal role in France’s victorious 2018 World Cup campaign. Having earned an impressive total of 145 international caps, Lloris decided to retire from representing his country in January, cementing his status as the nation’s most-capped player.
