No Decline in Performance for McLaren’s F1 2024 Car Improvements

McLaren Unveils Eye-Catching Livery for MCL38

In anticipation of the highly-anticipated launch of the MCL38 next month, McLaren has surprised fans by showcasing its stunning new livery. Following their impressive resurgence last season, where they went from backmarkers to challenging Red Bull at the front of the pack, all eyes are on whether McLaren can maintain their progress in this campaign.

Team principal Andrea Stella recently spoke about maintaining momentum and expressed confidence in their upcoming car. He stated that they haven’t witnessed diminishing returns during winter development and are optimistic about carrying forward the positive trajectory established last year.

“When it comes to wind tunnel and CFD development,” Stella said, “we see that we can sustain the gradient we achieved last year which led to significant improvements in Austria and Singapore.”

This is a stark contrast to McLaren’s situation last year when they openly admitted that their initial car design was below par. Stella emphasized how numbers play a crucial role in measuring efficiency, downforce, and drag – metrics that have shown steady improvement this time around.

Beyond just the launch-spec model, Stella hinted at ongoing research leading to potential upgrades early on in the season: “We’re already working behind-the-scenes on further developments set to be introduced relatively soon. They look quite promising.”

While McLaren is yet to announce an official date for unveiling their new car, being first to reveal their striking livery has certainly sparked excitement among fans and the wider Formula 1 community. The team’s determination to build upon last season’s progress is evident, and expectations are high for what they will bring to the grid in the upcoming season.
