    Manchester United Defender Phil Jones to Leave the Club After Injury-Plagued Years

    Phil Jones, the highly-capped defender for Manchester United is set to leave the club after several injury-prone years that saw him make limited appearances on the pitch. The 31-year-old player joined United from Blackburn Rovers in 2011 and went ahead to make 229 appearances for the team while scoring six goals.

    In a heart-to-heart interview with his fans, Jones expressed his disappointment at not being able to offer more of himself on the field due to injuries that kept sidelining him in recent times. He said, “I wish I could have played more. I wish I could have given more… It’s been very difficult, these last couple of years…”

    The final appearance for Manchester United by Phil Jones was during their victory over Brentford last season and since then has failed to play because of yet another injury.

    In spite of all these setbacks, Jones remains grateful for having had a great career at Old Trafford and winning titles including Premier League honors in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign with Manchester United.

    Jones’ Struggle with Injuries Takes Center Stage as he Departs From Man Utd

Capped twenty-seven times by England and making over two hundred-and-twenty-five appearances across all competitions during his time at Old Trafford; it’s fair to say he’ll be missed following confirmation of his departure from this summer upon expiry endowment contract agreement.
