Reports suggest Lionel Messi could be heading to Major League Soccer team Inter Miami

Messi Chooses Inter Miami Over Al-Hilal After Leaving PSG

The football world was rocked as news broke that Lionel Messi, the seven-time World’s Best Player award winner, chose American team Inter Miami over Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

At 35 years old and after two seasons with French champions Paris St-Germain, Messi is set to play outside of Europe for the first time in his career. Despite wanting to remain in Europe for another season, he ultimately had no satisfactory offers and had to choose between Inter Miami or Al-Hilal.

It was heavily speculated that he would join Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema at Al-Hilal; however, a variety of factors led him towards choosing Major League Soccer side Inter Miami instead. These factors included lifestyle preferences and a deal with big brands extending beyond football – including Adidas and Apple – which were too good to resist.

Messi already owns a house in Miami which he currently rents out. While he wanted a return to Barcelona this summer, Financial Fair Play limitations made it impossible for any ambitious plan to bring him back.

Messi’s Legacy at PSG & Barcelona

In both his seasons at PSG Messi helped them win Ligue 1 titles but their failure in the Champions League last 16 meant his time there wasn’t considered hugely successful. Overall during his time in France he scored 32 goals from 75 games including ending this season with an impressive tally of 16 goals and assists each.

Prior to his PSG stint, Messi spent 21 years with Barcelona where he became their record scorer with an astonishing 672 goals and won numerous titles including 10 La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues and seven Spanish Cups. He left Barca in 2021 due to the club’s financial problems.

    Messi’s Future at Inter Miami

Inter Miami fans are excited at the prospect of having Messi on their team. While he may be getting older, his skills and experience will be invaluable for the younger players on the team. Additionally, this move is expected to generate considerable interest from football fans around the world which should boost ticket sales for Inter Miami games.

In conclusion, while many were surprised by Messi’s decision to join Inter Miami over Al-Hilal after leaving PSG; ultimately it was a choice influenced by lifestyle preferences as well as business opportunities with big brands beyond football.
