Rotherham United Welcomes Tyler Blackett

Rotherham United has signed free agent defender Tyler Blackett until the end of the season. The 28-year-old recently left Major League Soccer team FC Cincinnati following the conclusion of their 2022 campaign.

Blackett, who started his career with Manchester United, could debut for the Millers during their Championship match against Birmingham City this Saturday. Speaking to the club website, he stated, “I’m hopeful that my experience can help steady the squad and get some results.”

After making 11 Premier League appearances in the 2014-15 season under Louis van Gaal, Blackett had loan stints with Blackpool, Birmingham City, and Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. He joined Reading in August 2016 before moving to Nottingham Forest four years later. Blackett’s arrival at Rotherham finds the club eight points clear of the relegation zone, with 11 games remaining.
