Trump Praises New PGA Tour-LIV Golf Collaboration as a Major Boost for the Sport

The Shocking Partnership Between PGA Tour and LIV Golf

In a surprise announcement that has rocked the world of professional golf, the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf have formed a new commercial entity. This marks the end of a longstanding feud between these rival tours, which has been plaguing men’s professional golf for over a year.

The former US President Donald Trump expressed his excitement about this big news on his social media platform Truth Social. He referred to it as “a big, beautiful and glamorous deal” for golf enthusiasts worldwide. The partnership will see three LIV Golf events held at Trump’s courses in 2023 season.

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan hailed this “transformational partnership,” emphasizing its potential to benefit players, sponsors, charities and fans alike.

    Mixed Reactions from Players

While some players like Phil Mickelson welcomed this move wholeheartedly by calling it an “awesome day today,” others were caught off guard by the announcement.

“I love finding out morning news on Twitter,” tweeted Collin Morikawa sarcastically while Michael S.Kim said: ” Very curious how many people knew this deal was happening? About five-seven people? Player-run organization right?”

Dylan Wu also expressed cynicism regarding the announcement as he tweeted: ” Tell me why Jay Monahan basically got promoted to CEO of all golf in the world by going back on everything he said for past two years.” Fellow American Wesley Bryan added fuel to fire with his tweet:
“Love finding out info on twitter. This is amazing! Y’all should be ashamed and have a lot of questions to answer. I feel betrayed, and will not be able to trust anyone within the corporate structure of the PGA TOUR for a very long time.”

Despite mixed reactions from players, this partnership is set to bring about significant changes in men’s professional golf. It remains to be seen what impact it will have on the sport in the coming years.
