Shin Holds Five-Shot Lead at Women’s Scottish Open
South Korean star Jenny Shin maintained her commanding position at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open after Saturday’s third round at Dundonald Links. Shin carded a one-under 71 to reach 12-under par overall, extending her advantage to five strokes over Thailand’s Pajaree Anannarukarn, who surged into second place with a bogey-free 69.
Shin admitted to nerves during the opening holes and described the round as both boring and nerve-wracking. A setup change on the 10th hole caused a brief hiccup when she reverted to her old putting alignment, but she recovered quickly. The 10-year gap since her last LPGA Tour victory at the Texas Shootout adds weight to Sunday’s final round.
Chasing Pack Takes Shape Behind Leader
Japan’s Erika Hara and Germany’s Esther Henseleit sit tied for third at five-under par after rounds of 71 and 73 respectively. Henseleit, a Solheim Cup player, cited tough conditions and unlucky lies on the first two holes but found her rhythm on the back nine. Korea’s A Lim Kim occupies fifth at three-under, with Japan’s Miyu Yamashita and defending champion Lauren Coughlin a further stroke behind.
The final round will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Golf and Sky Sports+ from midday on Sunday as Shin attempts to convert her largest career lead into a breakthrough victory.
