AC Milan Dismisses Paolo Maldini from Technical Director Position

AC Milan Sacks Legendary Captain and Technical Director after Five Years

In a move that stunned the football world, AC Milan has sacked its technical director and former captain Paolo Maldini. Despite helping Milan claim their first Serie A title in over a decade last year, Maldini was relieved of his duties following the team’s fourth-place finish this season.

The 54-year-old spent his entire playing career with AC Milan, winning an impressive 26 trophies along the way. His father Cesare also played for the club, while his son Daniel is currently on loan at Spezia.

Maldini Integral to Rossoneri’s Recent Successes

Maldini took up his position as technical director five years ago and was instrumental in helping the Rossoneri secure key players like Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez, Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud. His contribution saw them not only win their first Scudetto since 2011 but also reach the semi-finals of this year’s Champions League.

“We thank him for his years of service,” said an official statement from AC Milan. “Maldini helped contribute to our return to the Champions League and winning another Scudetto.”
