Allaho Braced for King George VI Chase Challenge

Allaho Targets Victory in King George VI Chase

Renowned for their dominance on the Flat, Cheveley Park Stud is set to make waves over jumps as Allaho aims to secure a big-race win at Kempton on Boxing Day in the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase. The owners have experienced tremendous success in recent years, with A Plus Tard’s Gold Cup triumph being a standout moment at the Cheltenham Festival.

A dual winner at Prestbury Park, Allaho has proved his mettle by clinching victory in the Ryanair Chase twice and delivering an impressive performance in the 2022 Punchestown Gold Cup over three miles. Although sidelined due to injury last season, the nine-year-old made a triumphant comeback with a win in the Clonmel Oil Chase last month, indicating his readiness for one of National Hunt racing’s most prestigious events.

Richard Thompson, director of Cheveley Park Stud, expressed excitement about seeing Allaho compete and praised his exceptional abilities: “He’s been a brilliant horse for us and you’d hope that he’s going to be in good enough shape to compete and do a decent job.”

The victory at Clonmel may not have been sensational but it demonstrated Allaho’s solid form. Thompson remains hopeful that he will showcase his true brilliance at Kempton: “Who knows what will happen… but it’s great to be in the race… this is a proper Grade One.”
