ToggleThe Excitement Builds for Bravemansgame at Cheltenham Gold Cup
Last year’s Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up, Bravemansgame, is gearing up to surpass his previous performance in a bid for glory this year. While labeled as an outsider after not securing victories in three recent races, trainer Paul Nicholls remains optimistic about his chances.
Nicholls attributes Bravemansgame’s past setbacks to various factors but believes the horse excels when fresh. With a strategic break since the King George race on Boxing Day, a recent gallop around Kempton signals preparation for the upcoming challenge in just over two weeks.
“Bravemansgame faced challenges in soft ground at Wetherby and Betfair Chase before heading to Kempton. Despite those hurdles, he delivered a commendable performance at Kempton,” said Nicholls confidently.
Stage Star Aims for Ryanair Chase Success
Another hopeful from Nicholls’ stable is Stage Star, eyeing success in the Ryanair Chase. With significant wins under his belt last season but a recent setback in very soft ground resulting in withdrawal on New Year’s Day, Stage Star aims to bounce back stronger.
“Stage Star showcases potential for triumph at the Ryanair Chase after notable victories like Paddy Power Gold Cup triumph. Although facing challenges due to minor training difficulties and past mistakes, we believe he can shine with proper preparation,” explained Nicholls optimistically.
Captain Teague Eyes Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle
In another exciting development from Paul Nicholls’ camp, Captain Teague sets his sights on competing in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle rather than the Baring Bingham event unless weather conditions prompt changes.
