Blue Rose Cen set to compete in Prix Vermeille

Blue Rose Cen Targets Prix Vermeille After Nassau Stakes Disappointment

In a bid for further Group One success, Blue Rose Cen is set to head to the Prix Vermeille after her disappointing outing in the Nassau Stakes. The talented filly, sired by Churchill and trained by Christopher Head, has been shining brightly this season. With three wins out of four races and a previous Group One victory in the Prix Marcel Boussac as a juvenile, she has established herself as one of the stars of Head’s stable.

    A Season of Triumphs

Kicking off her three-year-old campaign with a comfortable victory in the Group Three Prix de la Grotte, Blue Rose Cen continued her winning streak by triumphing in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches over the same ParisLongchamp mile. She then showcased her class at Group One level with an impressive four-length win in the prestigious Prix de Diane.

The disappointment came during Goodwood’s summer meeting when she was unable to make her mark due to being boxed in two furlongs from home. Despite finishing fourth behind Al Husn, Above The Curve, and Nashwa, Blue Rose Cen was only beaten by a tight margin of one length and a quarter.

    Prix Vermeille Next on Agenda

Eager to continue their initial plans for Blue Rose Cen, Head has confirmed that she will be aimed at the Prix Vermeille. This mile and a half race on Arc trials day back at ParisLongchamp will test her abilities as she steps up in distance once again.

“She is very well, she had a good journey back from France and everything is all right,” stated Head. “Everything has gone smoothly with her since Goodwood and she worked well (on Wednesday morning). We’re still hoping to go through with the schedule we had in mind for her and the Vermeille is the plan – everything is good.”

    Ramatuelle A Rising Star

Head’s stable also boasts another top-quality filly named Ramatuelle, owned in part by NBA hall of famer Tony Parker. The two-year-old chestnut daughter of Justify has already displayed immense potential with three wins out of four starts.

Her recent triumphs include an impressive five-length victory in the Group-level Prix du Bois followed by a four-length win in the Prix Robert Papin. Her next target is set to be the six-furlong Group One race, Prix Morny, held at Deauville.

“She’s doing fine, she’s really good,” said Head about Ramatuelle’s progress. “She’s just full of speed and I have entered her in the Morny; that’s going to be the plan for her.”

He added eagerly, “I’m very happy with her performance so far. She excels over that distance and pace effortlessly. It brings us great joy to witness her winning races, and we can’t wait to see what she achieves next!”
