CS2 gamers plead with Valve to address a game-altering Molotov glitch

Bugs Continue to Haunt Counter-Strike 2 Months After Launch

In an unexpected turn of events, Counter-Strike 2, the highly anticipated game that hit the shelves back in September 2023, is still grappling with numerous bugs. One particular bug has caught the attention of players for its potential to disrupt gameplay – Smoke Grenades failing to extinguish fires. The community is now demanding swift action from developers to rectify this issue.

On January 1st, frustrated players gathered online to discuss their encounters with Smoke Grenades malfunctioning when thrown over a fire in CS2. Normally designed to put out flames, these grenades have been found inconsistent in their effectiveness. A player named JiberybobX shared a video clip showcasing how they attempted to douse a Molotov cocktail using a Smoke Grenade while holding the Window position on Mirage. However, much to their dismay, the grenade failed and resulted in their untimely demise.

This bug appears in various forms according to different player reports. In some instances, throwing a Smoke Grenade over fire does eventually extinguish it but with an annoying delay that often leads players taking additional damage due to delayed response time. One disgruntled player expressed frustration by saying, “When I try putting out Molotovs with Smokes it feels like there’s always an extra tick before it goes out instead of being instantly extinguished like in [CS:GO].”

Adding fuel to the fire (pun intended), players have revealed that this bug has persisted within CS2 for quite some time now without any resolution efforts from developers. Understandably so, many are eager for immediate action and demand quick fixes.

Despite these persisting issues along with others plaguing CS2 since its launch, the development team at Valve have been working tirelessly to improve the game. Regular updates have been released, resulting in noticeable enhancements from the state of the game back in September. With two months remaining before the first CS2 Major tournament kicks off in March, players can look forward to potential bug fixes and a more stable gaming experience.
