    Novak Djokovic, known for his dedication and meticulous preparation, is breaking away from his strict routine in an unexpected move as he aims to make tennis history this fortnight. Despite being seeded second behind Carlos Alcaraz, the Serbian superstar is widely regarded as the favorite to win a record-equalling eighth men’s Wimbledon singles title.

    Djokovic has set his sights on capturing a 24th Grand Slam title and becoming the first player since Steffi Graf in 1988 to achieve a Calendar Slam by winning all four major tournaments in one year.     “Earlier in my career,” Djokovic admitted,

    “I would’ve never accepted such deviations because I had developed a mentality of relentless hard work – always striving for those extra minutes or half an hour. I used to be hard on myself if I missed out on anything, believing it would negatively impact my performance and lead to defeat. But over time, I’ve realized that sometimes less is more, and it’s essential not to be too harsh on oneself.”

    Despite these changes in his approach, one tradition Djokovic refuses to abandon is celebrating his Wimbledon victories by consuming a blade or two of the iconic Centre Court grass. This unique post-match ritual has been ongoing since his first win at Wimbledon in 2011.

    “The taste of the grass,” Djokovic remarked with a smile,

    “is simply unparalleled! It began spontaneously after my initial triumph when the overwhelming joy led me to bite into that lush greenery. Since then, it has become somewhat of a personal tradition for me.”

    When questioned about concerns regarding hygiene and sweat absorbed by the grass, Djokovic shrugged off any worries, saying, “I don’t even think about those things! The way Wimbledon maintains its courts makes it incredibly delicious – trust me!”

    No stranger to physical exertion on Centre Court, Djokovic’s exceptional movement during matches ensures he covers every inch of the hallowed turf.
