Ducati Vows to Continue Supporting Satellite MotoGP Teams in Outperforming the Factory Squad

Sensational Battle for the Championship Title in 2023 MotoGP Season

    Ducati Dominance and Unwavering Fairness:

The 2023 MotoGP season witnessed an exhilarating battle for the championship title that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very end. It was a showdown between Ducati’s factory team rider, Francesco Bagnaia, who ultimately emerged victorious, and Pramac’s Jorge Martin.

In a remarkable display of dominance by Ducati riders, they secured all three top positions in the standings. Bagnaia led Martin and VR46’s Marco Bezzecchi. With a total of 17 grand prix victories out of 20 races, Ducati proved to be unstoppable with six representatives achieving success.

As speculation grew regarding potential team orders to manage this intense competition within Ducati, it became clear that no such measures were taken during the season. The Italian manufacturer emphasized its unwavering commitment to treating all eight riders equally and honestly according to their contracts.

    The Power of Transparency:

Tardozzi, sporting director at Ducati Lenovo team affirmed: “We maintain complete transparency among our teams. Each rider has access to all data from every other rider. We will never hinder any non-factory team against our own factory team.”

This approach allows each competitor not only equal opportunity but also empowers them with comprehensive information necessary to surpass their factory counterparts. Ducati’s mentality, embodied by General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna, places the onus on the factory team to deliver exceptional riders and performance.

Tardozzi highlighted: “Gigi is Ducati; he has eight possibilities to win. As sporting director of Ducati Lenovo team, I too have two opportunities to emerge victorious. It is our responsibility as separate teams within Ducati to outperform one another.”

    A Level Playing Field:

Ducati’s commitment to fairness extends beyond words. Tardozzi emphasized that each rider receives identical equipment without any discrepancies in new parts or updates.

“Martin had no less than us this year – he had exactly what we had at precisely the same time,” said Tardozzi proudly. “We never introduce new components without ensuring Pramac also has access to them.”

The Italian manufacturer remains unafraid of internal competition within its own teams. This belief is evident in their decision to provide factory bikes not only to Pramac but also winning bikes for their two satellite teams.

Tardozzi confidently stated: “By sharing data among all entities, we amplify our collective knowledge and push the boundaries of innovation. Our engineers relish having eight riders with eight unique perspectives contributing invaluable insights.”

    Raising The Bar:

Ducati’s unique approach fosters an environment where internal rivalries fuel growth and development, ultimately benefitting the entire organization.

“We embrace this kind of competition between Ducati teams as it elevates our overall performance,” explained Tardozzi enthusiastically. “Our willingness to share information underscores our confidence in facing challenges head-on.”
