The Durham Riverside Welcomes Back Ashton Turner for T20 Blast
In a surprising turn of events, Durham has announced the re-signing of Australia’s dynamic batter, Ashton Turner. The team is thrilled to have him back with them as he steps in following South Africa ‘A’ team’s call-up for Tristan Stubbs.
Turner had been an integral part of the Durham T20 side during last season’s Blast campaign which saw some stunning performances by the talented cricketer. Aged 30, he brings along with him years of experience and knowledge that will undoubtedly help strengthen Durham’s already impressive squad.
Prior to his return to Riverside, Turner was busy leading Perth Scorchers at Big Bash League 2023 where they retained their championship title in style. His leadership skills and performance on-field caught everyone’s attention as he scored crucial runs throughout the tournament.
We have high expectations from our squad this year and believe that with players like Ashton on board we can achieve success,” said Director of Cricket Marcus North when asked about welcoming back Turner into their family.
Experience Counts: Ashton Thrilled About Rejoining
“Durham holds a special place in my heart; I could not be more excited about rejoining them again this season. It will be great working alongside such talented teammates who share my passion,” exclaimed an elated Turner regarding his return.
