Eight contenders announced for the Irish Oaks, including Savethelastdance

Savethelastdance Leads Aidan O’Brien’s Charge in Juddmonte Irish Oaks

Aidan O’Brien is set to unleash his formidable presence at the Curragh for the highly anticipated Juddmonte Irish Oaks this weekend. With an impressive record of six victories in this prestigious fillies’ Classic, he hopes to secure another triumph and establish himself as the sole record holder alongside Sir Michael Stoute.

O’Brien’s leading contender, Savethelastdance, stands as a strong favorite after her dominant 22-length victory in the Cheshire Oaks. This will be her first race since finishing behind Soul Sister in the Epsom Oaks last month.

Warm Heart, another talented runner from O’Brien’s yard and fresh off a hat-trick win in Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, poses a significant threat to Savethelastdance. The duo adds immense strength to their trainer’s chances of success.

The quartet is completed by Be Happy, who finished second in Lingfield Oaks Trial and Listed winner Library – both contenders with potential surprises up their sleeves.

Ralph Beckett’s Bluestocking represents British hopes with a close head defeat against Warm Heart at Newbury on her resume. However, she must overcome almost four lengths difference from their previous encounter just over four weeks ago during the Ribblesdale clash.

Lumiere Rock trained by Joseph O’Brien, who finished second to Warm Heart at the Royal meeting, adds further depth to an already competitive Irish Oaks field.

Irish trainers Dermot Weld and Jim Bolger also contribute to the excitement with their respective hopefuls. Azazat, coming off a strong second place finish in the Munster Oaks for Weld and Comhra, who claimed third position in the Irish 1,000 Guineas under Bolger’s tutelage.

Stay tuned for all the action from this exhilarating Irish Oaks weekend!
