ENCE faces departure of two crucial CS2 players prior to 2024
ENCE Bids Farewell to Snappi and sAw
In a surprising turn of events, ENCE, one of the top five CS2 teams in the world, has said goodbye to their leader Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and head coach Eetu “sAw” Saha on November 26th. This unexpected departure came after ENCE offered contract extensions to both Snappi and sAw but they decided it was time for a change.
Snappi is reportedly signing with Saudi organization Falcons for 2024 while sAw’s next move remains unknown. When announcing their departures, ENCE’s general manager Niklas “Willkey” Ojalainen stated that both players were given the opportunity to extend their contracts with great compensation but ultimately chose to seek new opportunities elsewhere. Their decisions were respected by ENCE as they honored their choice.
The contributions made by Snappi and sAw cannot be understated as they played pivotal roles in elevating ENCE from an all-Finnish project past its prime to becoming a successful international lineup in 2021. Together, they achieved remarkable victories such as winning IEM Dallas in 2023 and finishing as runners-up in prestigious tournaments like ESL Pro League season 15 (April 2022), IEM Cologne (August 2023), and Gamers8 (August 2023). Without them, it would have been impossible for ENCE to establish themselves as a solid world-top-five team.
The Future of ENCE
With two key members leaving, ENCE now faces the challenge of finding suitable replacements. Rumors suggest that gla1ve, a four-time Major champion who recently left Astralis on November 22nd, might join ENCE along with former Virtus Pro and Apeks coach Jakub “kuben” Gurczyński. However, these rumors are yet to be confirmed by official sources.
Currently, ENCE’s roster consists of Guy “NertZ” Iluz, Paweł Dycha, Pavle “maden” Bošković, and Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia.
