England chosen as host for pre-Euro 2024 matches against Brazil and Belgium at Wembley

England Prepares for Euro 2024 with Friendlies Against Brazil and Belgium

The English national football team, commonly known as the Three Lions, is gearing up for next summer’s European Championships by scheduling friendly matches against powerhouse teams Brazil and Belgium. These matches will take place at Wembley Stadium in March.

The squad led by manager Gareth Southgate secured their spot in Euro 2024 after defeating Italy 3-1 in London back in October. This early qualification has given them ample time to fine-tune their tactics and strategy before the tournament kicks off.

In an interview, Southgate expressed his satisfaction with having two strong opponents in March as they continue their preparations for the prestigious Euro finals. He emphasized the importance of testing themselves against top-level competition to ensure they are fully ready.

On March 23rd, England will face five-time World Cup winners Brazil on home soil. This encounter holds significance as it marks a rematch since their goalless draw back in November 2017 at Wembley Stadium. Just three days later, on March 26th, England will host another formidable opponent – Belgium. The last time these two teams met at Wembley was during a Nations League fixture where England emerged victorious with a scoreline of 2-1.

As of now, Southgate’s unbeaten side has won five out of six qualifying games leading up to the Euros. They are set to complete their qualifying campaign during November’s international break by facing Malta at Wembley on November 17th followed by an away match against North Macedonia on November 20th.

Southgate emphasized the importance of securing positive results in these remaining qualifiers to ensure they become top seeds in the Euro draw next month. Despite their strong performance so far, he warned against complacency and stressed that there is still work to be done. Every second spent together as a team will count towards giving themselves the best chance of success next summer.
