Explosive Debut: Blood Destiny Shines in Thrilling Chase

Blood Destiny’s Successful Transition to Fences Delights Paul Townend and Willie Mullins

Blood Destiny, a former leading juvenile hurdler, showcased his versatility as he smoothly made the switch to fences under the guidance of jockey Paul Townend and trainer Willie Mullins at Naas.

The talented gelding had an eventful outing in last year’s Triumph Hurdle, running too keenly and eventually fading into ninth place. However, fences seemed to have a calming effect on Blood Destiny in the Bar One Racing “Bet 10 Euro Get 50 Euro Sign Up Offer” Beginners Chase.

With impeccable jumping skills and remarkable control, Blood Destiny left no room for error. He effortlessly powered away after the final fence, leaving Heart Wood trailing behind by an impressive nine lengths.

“He was dynamite everywhere and always looking for the next fence really. He’s a real chaser,” praised Townend about the even-money favorite. “He jumps so fast that he could come back in trip, but he’d have no problem staying at that trip either.”

Gavin Cromwell Envisions Cheltenham Success with Only By Night

Gavin Cromwell has high hopes for Only By Night after witnessing her commanding victory in the Care At Home Services Mares Maiden Hurdle at Naas.

A previously listed bumper winner, Only By Night made her hurdling debut as a strong favorite among 17 contenders. Ridden confidently by Keith Donoghue, she swiftly took charge of the race while her sole rival began feeling overwhelmed.

In an unexpected twist of events at the final flight, Jack Kennedy was unseated from Gordon Elliott’s Magic Dawn just as she started feeling pressured. This fortunate turn allowed Only By Night to cruise home comfortably with a staggering lead of 10 lengths.

Betfair has already taken notice of her potential and subsequently lowered the odds for her chances in the mares’ novice hurdle at Cheltenham, now standing at 14-1 from the previous 20-1.

“She’s a nice mare and when she won a Listed bumper you would hope she could come on and do that,” commented an optimistic Cromwell. “Hopefully she could be good enough to aim at the mares’ novice hurdle at Cheltenham. We might as well dream here as in bed!”
