Impressive Debut: Henry Arundell Secures Hat-Trick for Racing 92 in Match against Toulon

England Wing Henry Arundell Makes Impressive Debut for Racing 92

In a thrilling Top 14 encounter, England wing Henry Arundell showcased his immense talent as he scored a hat-trick on his debut for Racing 92. Despite the team’s narrow defeat of 31-26 against Toulon, Arundell’s performance stole the spotlight.

The young and promising 21-year-old player recently joined Racing after London Irish faced financial difficulties which led to their administration in June. However, due to an existing rule set by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and Premiership Rugby that requires English players to compete in the Premiership if selected for national duty, special circumstances were granted to allow Arundell’s participation in the upcoming Six Nations tournament in early next year.

Arundell’s first try during Sunday’s match at Stade Mayol demonstrated his exceptional skills as he weaved through Toulon defenders with trademark flair. This try stood out among his three impressive scores during the game.

Prior to joining Racing, Arundell had already made a mark on international rugby with seven tries in just ten appearances for England. Notably, he achieved an astonishing feat by scoring five tries during his World Cup debut against Chile in September where England dominated with a resounding victory of 71-0. Although he did not feature again until the third-place play-off win over Argentina, these performances have undoubtedly caught attention.

It is worth mentioning that alongside flanker Jack Willis, centre Joe Marchant, and lock David Ribbans, Arundell is one of the four World Cup squad members who have chosen to play in France. With Jonny May’s retirement from international duty after the World Cup, Arundell has a real chance of becoming one of England’s starting wingers in the upcoming Six Nations championship.
