Australia’s Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy Out of The Hundred Due to Injuries

In a surprising turn of events, Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry and stand-in captain Alyssa Healy have been ruled out of participating in The Hundred due to injuries.

Perry, who was set to lead the Birmingham Phoenix team, requires a rest period of four to six weeks after suffering a knee injury during Australia’s one-day international series against Ireland. It is unfortunate news for fans as they eagerly anticipated her leadership on the field. A replacement for the experienced Perry has yet to be announced.

Healy, on the other hand, fractured her finger which will prevent her from taking part in Northern Superchargers’ campaign. However, cricket enthusiasts can still expect some excitement as compatriot Phoebe Litchfield steps into replace Healy at Superchargers alongside Jemimah Rodrigues who replaces Heather Graham.

Rodrigues expressed her enthusiasm about returning to The Hundred: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be back in this world-class competition. I’ve had such an incredible time participating in it before. Headingley is a remarkable venue with fantastic supporters, and I simply can’t wait to step onto that field once again.”

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) also announced several other player changes involving replacements for Rashid Khan, Shadab Khan, and Heinrich Klaasen who are leaving during the tournament due to their respective international commitments representing Afghanistan, Pakistan, and South Africa.
