Jack Singleton signs with Toulon as a hooker for the rest of the season
Gloucester’s Jack Singleton Signs for Toulon on Loan
In a surprising move, Gloucester’s England international hooker, Jack Singleton, has secured a loan deal with Top 14 club Toulon. The 27-year-old, who boasts three caps for his country, will join the French side for the remainder of the season before returning to Cherry and Whites in 2024-25.
This unexpected transfer comes as Singleton recently recovered from a serious leg injury suffered last December. Head coach George Skivington praised Singleton’s determination to regain full fitness and believes this loan opportunity will provide him with valuable game time necessary to rediscover his peak form.
“Jack has shown incredible resilience in his journey back from injury,” Skivington commented. “We saw glimpses of his exceptional talent prior to his setback, and we believe this loan spell will enable him to reignite that spark.”
Despite losing their key hooker temporarily, Gloucester remains confident in their depth at that position. With George McGuigan providing support alongside Santi Socino and academy player Seb Blake stepping up impressively when needed last season, Skivington is optimistic about maintaining strength in the hooker role until Singleton returns.
We wish Jack all the best during his time at Toulon and eagerly await his return next summer.”
Singleton transferred to Gloucester from Saracens in 2020 and had signed a contract extension just two months ago.
