Jamie Snowden gears up for ambitious hurdling campaign with Reach For The Moon

Reach For The Moon Set to Pursue Hurdling Career

Once considered a Derby favorite, Reach For The Moon is now embarking on a new path as he joins trainer Jamie Snowden and transitions to the world of hurdles. Previously trained by John and Thady Gosden, this son of Sea The Stars showed immense potential with an impressive victory in the Solario Stakes last year.

A setback came when he was defeated by Bayside Boy in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, who went on to claim victory in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. Despite hopes for Derby glory in the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year, Reach For The Moon did not make an appearance at Epsom. Instead, he made his comeback at Sandown’s Heron Stakes followed by a second-place finish at Royal Ascot’s Hampton Court Stakes.

Unfortunately, his form dipped during a subsequent race in France and Reach For The Moon underwent gelding over the winter period. However, even after returning for two races this season which resulted in disappointing finishes including one down-the-field performance in the Royal Hunt Cup, hope remains high as he prepares for his transition to hurdling under Henrietta Knight’s guidance.

“He’s not with us yet but has been down at Henrietta Knight’s learning to jump,” said Snowden. “He is now back at Sandringham having a bit of a break and will come to us later on.”

The anticipation surrounding Reach For The Moon’s switch of codes is palpable among racing enthusiasts eagerly awaiting his return next year. After spending some time at Sandringham, he will join Jamie Snowden’s yard and hopefully be ready for his hurdling debut in the upcoming season.

Ga Law, Datsalrightgino, and You Wear It Well: Stable Stars with Plans Ahead

As autumn approaches, Jamie Snowden is making running plans for three of his stable stars – Ga Law, Datsalrightgino, and You Wear It Well. These horses have shown tremendous potential in their respective campaigns.

Ga Law achieved success by winning last season’s Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham but experienced a dip in form as the new year unfolded. Meanwhile, Datsalrightgino impressed by securing Grade Two honors in the Jordan Electrics Ltd Future Champion Novices’ Chase at Ayr.

“They were our big three from last year I suppose and they are all back in and in good order at the moment,” said Snowden regarding Ga Law, Datsalrightgino, and You Wear It Well.

You Wear It Well provided her trainer with a triumphant moment at the Cheltenham Festival when she won the Jack De Bromhead Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle. She later showcased her talent by finishing fifth against male rivals at Aintree.

“Your Wear It Well will probably start off in that Listed mares’ race at Wetherby and we’ll work towards hopefully going back to Cheltenham next March,” added Snowden on future plans for this talented mare.

“Ga Law is going to start off over hurdles in the West Yorkshire Hurdle at Wetherby followed by an attempt to claim victory in Newbury’s Coral Gold Cup,” continued Snowden discussing Ga Law’s upcoming races.

“Datsalrightgino will hopefully commence his season in the Old Roan at Aintree before pursuing success in the Paddy Power Gold Cup,” Snowden concluded on future plans for Datsalrightgino.
