Jon Rahm’s Unusual Demand for the PGA Tour: A Portable Toilet at Every Golf Hole

Jon Rahm’s Unusual Request for the PGA Tour

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm, currently ranked No. 3 in the world, has an unexpected priority on his wishlist for improvements in the PGA Tour – more portable toilets! In a recent press conference, he expressed his frustration at not being able to choose when nature calls and urges organizers to install porta potties on every hole.

Rahm acknowledges that this may sound trivial compared to other concerns like prize money or rule changes but insists it would greatly benefit players. He candidly shared how he had even approached tour officials several times about this seemingly simple issue without success.

“It sounds crazy, but I can’t choose when I have to go to the bathroom. I’ve told the Tour this many times, as simple as that,” said Rahm.

This request might not come as a surprise to fellow player Brooks Koepka who claimed that during Rahm’s Masters triumph in April, he went to relieve himself seven times during the final round. This incident also highlighted complaints about slow play at Augusta National and fueled ongoing discussions about improving game speed.

The Need for “Simple Little” Changes Beyond Course Conditions:

Rahm believes that focusing on small enhancements beyond course conditions is crucial for players’ well-being and performance. While appreciating nutritionists available at The Players Championship, he desires their presence across more events along with expanded workout facilities onsite.

“The very basic things they can do in tournaments to make them all as good as they can be is where I’d like to see some changes… I’m not so worried about purses and bonuses and those things,” Rahm emphasized.

The 28-year-old golfer expressed his desire for the best possible amenities for players, understanding that their comfort can positively impact their game. He believes these seemingly insignificant factors play a vital role in improving the overall quality of tournaments rather than merely focusing on financial aspects.

Pursuing Excellence at FedEx St. Jude Championship:

Rahm made these remarks ahead of the FedEx St. Jude Championship, which marks the beginning of three playoff events leading up to the season-ending Tour Championship. Currently ranked first in the FedEx Cup standings, he is determined to secure his first career FedEx Cup triumph.

With four PGA Tour wins this season and a total of 11 victories since turning pro in 2016, Rahm’s success has been remarkable. He aims to continue adding more titles to his name consistently throughout his career.

“I like to add that [winning multiple times] as one of my labels of consistency throughout it. But just having been able to win every single year for the last six years is quite an accomplishment,” said Rahm with confidence.
