Juarno Augustus signs new contract with Northampton Saints

In what has been described as a major coup for the Northampton Saints, South African number eight Juarno Augustus has decided to extend his stay at Franklin’s Gardens by signing a new deal whose length is undisclosed.

Augustus joined the Premiership club two seasons ago and since then, he has featured in over forty-five appearances and scored thirteen tries. He expressed his delight at being able to continue playing with the club where he believes that his game has improved considerably thanks to their top-class coaches, staff, and players.

“I know that my game has improved so much since I’ve come over thanks to the coaches, staff and players,” he said.

The forward was instrumental in helping Saints finish fourth in this season’s league campaign thus booking them a place in the play-off semi-finals. Speaking on these achievements, an excited Augustus revealed that he is “100%, with the squad we have… confident we can go even further in coming years.”

“…with…the squad we have…I’m certain we can achieve greater heights moving forward.”

On behalf of Northampton Saints’, Director of Rugby Phil Dowson also expressed delight at having secured one of their key assets:

“His ball-carrying ability clearly sets him apart – statistically he is one of the very best in the league – but he has huge desire to get better across-the-board…and [is] improving all-the-time.”

This latest development spells good news for fans who are now looking forward to seeing more from this exciting player in the coming seasons.
